The Sacred Cocoa Ceremony
There is a special place in Peru’s Sacred Valley where the vibration of the land itself invites healing and spiritual awakening. Here the cocoa bean grows, surrounded by the powerful earth energy of the Machu Picchu ley lines. The indigenous people have long known the wisdom of this sacred medicine plant, using it as part of intricate ceremonies for initiation, vision quests, and to open psychic abilities.
I was called to participate in one of these cocoa ceremonies to unblock my own spiritual growth. The shaman spoke of cocoa as the โfood of the gods,โ a plant teacher that activates the heart chakra and aligns us with divine love. As night fell, we gathered in a thatched-roof hut lit by candles. The rhythm of drumming and chanting filled the space as the shaman invoked the spirit of the cocoa bean to open our hearts and minds. He passed around a cup filled with the sacred drink he had crafted from the fermented cocoa, guiding us to set our intentions.
I savored the bittersweet flavor as the shaman continued his icaros, or power songs. I surrendered completely to the ceremony, letting his words and rhythms guide me within. A warmth slowly spread through my body as my awareness expanded. My mind became very still, yet my heart felt wide open and alive. I settled into a blissful state, every cell supercharged with vibrant energy yet perfectly relaxed. There within my heart I saw how much I had been living for my small self, yet now I understood I am part of something so much vaster.
The shaman whispered ancient Quechua wisdoms passed down from Pachamama, Mother Earth herself: โLive for Divine Love alone and you shall have all you need.โ I emerged with my heart overflowing, realigned to my true purpose on this planet. I had tapped into the power of the sacred cocoa medicine, and through it found an unlimited Source of divine love residing inside me all along.
The blessed cocoa bean healed me that night, awakening my heart to the only thing worth living for: Love itself. Wherever you seek purpose and connection, may your heart too be opened through the simple yet profound power of love. Much Love Benjamin Hartmann.

It is true that phrase that says “we do not know, what we do not know” we can only begin to know a little when we begin to experience.
