When Divine Love Awakens

A Journey to Self

In the quiet moments between heartbeats, when the world falls away and we’re left with nothing but the vastness of our own being, we sometimes glimpse a profound truth: love for the divine and love for self are inseparable, like waves and the ocean they arise from.

Many of us walk through life feeling disconnected, searching outside ourselves for something we can’t quite name. We chase achievements, relationships, and material comforts, yet that subtle ache of incompleteness persists. But what if the very thing we’re seeking is the force that enables our seeking? What if, like a fish searching for water while swimming in it, we’re immersed in what we desire most?

When we begin to open ourselves to divine love, something extraordinary happens. The boundaries we’ve built between sacred and mundane start to dissolve. We begin to recognize that the love we feel for the Source isn’t something that comes to us from outside โ€“ it wells up from within, like a spring that was always there, waiting to be discovered.

This love transforms how we see ourselves. No longer are we broken beings in need of fixing, but expressions of something vast and beautiful. Our flaws and struggles don’t disappear, but they take on new meaning. They become part of the gorgeous tapestry of our humanity, the very means through which divine love learns about itself through us.

As this understanding deepens, we find ourselves falling in love with life itself. Every sunrise becomes a love letter, every challenge an invitation to grow, every relationship a mirror showing us another facet of the infinite. The simple act of breathing becomes a prayer of gratitude. Our body โ€“ this miraculous temple of flesh and spirit โ€“ reveals itself as the sacred ground where infinite meets finite.

This is not about escaping our humanity but embracing it fully. It’s about recognizing that our human experience, with all its messiness and glory, is precisely how the divine chooses to know itself through us. When we truly understand this, self-love becomes not just possible but inevitable. How can we not love ourselves when we recognize that we are the universe’s way of experiencing its own magnificence?

In this space of divine love, we find that what we’ve been seeking was never lost. The peace we hoped to find in the future was always here, waiting patiently for us to notice it. The love we longed to receive was always flowing through us, waiting for us to become empty enough to feel it.

This is the great adventure of being human: not to become something other than what we are, but to recognize what we’ve always been. When we fall madly in love with the divine, we fall in love with all of it โ€“ the joy and the sorrow, the light and the shadow, the profound and the mundane. We fall in love with life itself, and in doing so, we remember our true nature.

And in this remembering, we find that we are both the lover and the beloved, both the seeker and what is sought. This is the ultimate romance โ€“ the love affair between the infinite and its own expression, between the ocean and its waves, between the divine and its own reflection in human form.

This love changes everything. It heals what we thought was broken, illuminates what we thought was dark, and reveals the extraordinary hiding within the ordinary. When we align with this love, we become a channel for it in the world. Our very presence becomes a reminder to others of their own divine nature, their own capacity for this boundless love.

This is the invitation life extends to us every moment: to fall so deeply in love with the divine that we cannot help but fall in love with ourselves and with life itself. For in truth, they are one and the same โ€“ different names for the same magnificent reality that we are privileged to explore in this human form.
