Imagine for a moment, at the beginning of your life, you were given a human. You were told, “Hey, this is your person. You have one passion for the rest of your life: to take care of this human.” Most of us have not realized that this is our passion.
We finish our childhood, raised by those who did their best, and then step into the world seeking someone else to show up for us. We look for love, for validation, for approvalโoutside of ourselves. But the truth is, we are our human. The only person who is truly here to take care of youโis you.
You are in your own custody.
When you wake up in the morning and ask, “What would I do today if I was taking care of my human?” the answer shifts dramatically from the way most of us live. Instead of self-criticism, we choose self-compassion. Instead of tolerating toxic relationships, we seek nourishing ones. Instead of running on empty, we prioritize rest, joy, and nourishment.
And here’s where we often get it wrongโloving ourselves isnโt just a feeling. Itโs an approach. Itโs a practice. Itโs a deep, unwavering commitment. You donโt even have to like yourself today to love yourself.
Liking yourself comes later, through the ways you honor yourself, through the moments that make you proud, through the consistent acts of care and kindness you extend to yourself. And loving yourself today? Thatโs non-negotiable. Thatโs your passion. Thatโs your calling.
Itโs time to take that calling seriously. Because you are your human. And you are worth taking care of.

I am taking care of me, in all ways and forms. Even if there are moments I donโt like me, I will always love me. Thank you.
